Welcome to 3rd grade!  I am looking forward to a productive and inspiring school year!  It will be a great adventure as we get to know each other through out our journey into 3rd grade.  I look forward to getting to know my students and their families.  Please refer to our class website on a regular basis as I will update with all of the class happenings, assignments,  post some examples of student work and add pictures of our activites.

I have attached my scoopit.com account for your viewing.  Scoopit is a new website that I discovered over the summer.  It is a way to organize information that you find on the internet, "scoop" information from others that have Scoopit accounts, and share with others things that you are passionate about.  It is very fun and interesting to explore.  I encourage you to take a look at it.  My account was set up as a technology resource for parents and teachers.  I will curate this account on a regular basis with updates on technology uses in the classroom as I come across new information.  I hope you enjoy exploring the information!

I live in Ann Arbor with my husband, Todd and my son Drew.  I have 2 daughters that are in college. Kaylee attends Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids and Kendall attends U of M.  I also have a wonderful Golden Retriever, Cody, who feels like one of my children!

Here is a bit about my educational background.  I graduated from Eastern Michigan University in the Interior Design program.  I returned to EMU to get my teaching certification. Currently, I am working on my Master's at EMU in Reading.  I have a love of learning and I look forward to continuing my education throughout my teaching career.

I love to be outside and enjoy nature.  I find so much beauty and joy from the outdoors.  Michigan is a great place to be to enjoy nature!  I also enjoy running with my dog, reading, traveling and spending time with my family and friends.

In my classroom, I promote an atmosphere of safety, trust and respect.  I work hard to build a sense of community among my students and I emphasize the idea of teamwork.  I value cooperation and collaboration both in my classroom and with parents and my fellow teachers.  I believe that I have found a nurturing  and collabrative home at Bach .  Bach is a wonderful school and I truly enjoy being around such enthusiastic students, staff and parents.

I believe in a partnership between parents and school for the best success for your child.  You are always welcome to contact me with any questions or concerns.  I welcome help in the classroom.  If you would like to volunteer there are many possible ways to help.
